Barony of Borealis Awards
One of the privileges of being a Barony is the right to create and bestow Baronial awards. This right has been exercised in the creation of a number of awards and orders to recognize the outstanding efforts of the members of the populace.
Members of the populace may recommend individuals for any award. The Baron and Baroness invite and encourage award recommendations of all types. Bestowing recognition is one of the chief pleasures of their office.

The Order of the Golden Letter: Presented for outstanding service to Barony. This award is usually presented with a scroll with a stylized golden letter.
The Order of the Wolfs Paw: Given to those who show outstanding performance in or service to the arts & sciences. This award is usually presented with a scroll and a token bearing the order’s badge:
Azure, on a wolf’s pawprint argent, an ermine spot azure, a bordure argent.
Order of The Cup of Borealis: Given to those who show excellence in persona development. One member of populace may hold the cup at any given time. It is presented by the Baron and Baroness in consultation with the current holder. This award is usually presented with the Cup of Borealis and a may have a scroll bearing the badge:
(Fieldless) In pale a demi-sun azure issuant from a chalice Or
Order of the Golden Spoon: Given to those who consistently prepare and execute notable feasts for the Barony of Borealis. This award is usually presented with a scroll and the wearer may bear a golden spoon or bear the badge:
(Fieldless) A spoon bendwise Or.
Order of the Caske: Given to members of the populace who have shown excellence in the art of brewing, and the donation of such to the Baron & Baroness for use largess. This award is usually presented with a scroll and the recipient may name themselves a Brewmeister of Borealis.
Order of the Silverwolf: Presented to the Champions of Heavy, Archery, Rapier, Arts & Sciences, Bardic or Youth upon completion of their term as champion. This award is usually presented with a Silverwolf medallion.
Order of Youngs Wolf: Given to the youth of Borealis who have distinguished themselves by their service and contribution to Barony of Borealis. This award is usually presented with a scroll.
Winter War Awards
Every year at Winter War, the following awards are presented. The recipients are chosen by the previous years’ recipients or their representatives. When the recipient receives the award, they swear that they will come to Winter War the next year to choose the new winner. The awards are:
The Hammer of Thor: Presented for ferociousness in battle on the Heavy Weapons Field. The token is a war hammer.
The Spear of Odin: Presented for skill shown with great weapons on the Heavy Weapons Field. The token is a spear.
The Chicken of Loki: Presented for sneakiness and general low cunning in battle on the Heavy Weapons Field. The token is a chicken statue.
The Ferocious Fez: Presented for ferociousness in battle on the Rapier Field. The token is a fez.
The Glorious Golden Kazoo of Glorious Glory: Presented for glorious glory in the Bardic Arts at Winter War, The token is the golden kazoo.
